Unlike legacy extensions that phone home with your entire web history, Halanoi operates with a strict zero-data retention policy for browsing activities.
02.Chrome Extension Permissions Explained
To intercept distractions and evaluate YouTube video titles in real-time, the extension requests the minimum viable set of Chrome Manifest V3 permissions:
Used exclusively to redirect restricted domains (e.g. instagram.com, x.com, reddit.com) to the Halanoi quarantine portal during active focus sessions. No URLs outside your blocklist are inspected.
Saves your chosen focus durations, active goal keywords, theme preferences, and strike counts locally on your machine using `chrome.storage.local`.
Controls background timers for 15-minute emergency passes and active countdown locks.
Allows the content script to inspect YouTube video titles and apply the Safe Mode focus blur overlay if the video does not match your designated study goal.
03.Gemini AI Processing & Appeal Data
When you submit a justification excuse in the AI Courtroom Tribunal, your text is sent to the Google Gemini Intelligence API endpoint for evaluation against your stated focus goal.
- No personal identities, browser history, or account credentials are sent with the appeal.
- Prompts are processed in memory and are not used to train machine learning models.
- Verdict decisions are returned immediately to your browser and stored locally.
04.Data Storage & Cryptographic Security
Halanoi employs local sandboxing. If you uninstall the extension or clear your Chrome browser cache, all session logs, focus statistics, and customization configurations are completely erased from your disk.
05.Your Rights & One-Click Data Deletion
You maintain complete authority over your data at all times. Within the extension popup settings, you can click "Reset All Data" at any moment to flush all stored strike records and audit history.
